More information:
Just fill the tank with natural tap water ... and you’re set for
perfect timekeeping.
The clock’s base acts as a fill spout cap for the 4 ounce water
reservoir which can power the clock for 8 -12 weeks (or more) between
water changes. Operational time varies depending on the content of
local tap water.
When you do change the water the
microchip remembers the time while you are doing the refilling.
PLEASE TAKE CARE TO SCREW THE BASE SECURELY TO THE TOP, TO ENSURE THE SEAL IS LEAK-PROOF.
How the Bedol Water Clock Works:
The clock employs the ions in water to
generate electrical current.
The ions in the water create a charge between the two metal poles inside the clock - this is what powers it. No chemicals are required to make this clock run.
Wake up with the Bedol Water Clock and you'll start your day already doing your bit for the environment - reducing electricity consumption and pollution (no batteries into the landfill).
Cleaning The Clock - please follow these instructions;
1. Unscrew the base and fill the tank with new water to the fill line.
2. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of normal cooking vinegar.
3. Screw the base back on and vigorously shake the clock so the water an vinegar mix.
4. Remove the base and prop the clock up so the contents do not spill. Let the contents sit for 1-2 hours then empty the contents. (Do not store near a naked flame)
5. Refill with fresh water and re-set the times.
