More information:
Buzz Away is the top selling natural insect repellent in North America.

In a study conducted at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Buzz Away was proven to be 2-3 times more effective than other natural repellents, even 3 hours after application. Researchers stated that "the protection provided by Buzz Away is not statistically different from the protection provided by OFF! Skintastic." Skintastic uses the chemical DEET as its active ingredient.

Buzz Away is safe for use on both adults and children. The non-aerosal pump spray bottle makes it safer for the environment too.

Compared to DEET products, DEET-free products generally need to be applied more frequently. While some DEET products work for up to 10 hours, Buzz away has been tested by the EPA for 2.5 hours and in field studies for up to 4 hours. Depending on the region and body chemistry, Buzz Away may need to be applied up to every hour to be 100% effective.

Buzz Away natural insect repellent contains no DEET, petrochemicals, preservatives or other toxins.

Ingredients:
Pure essential oils of citronella, cedarwood, eucalyptus, lemongrass, peppermint, water, denatured ethyl alcohol, modified castor oil to make it water soluble.

Buzz Away is made by Quantum Inc., a Eugene, Oregon based company that's been making natural health products for more than 15 years.

About DEET:
Classified as a pesticide, DEET, or diethyl-meta-toluamide, can be found in most over-the-counter insect repellents.

DEET has been proven to enter the bloodstream through application to the skin, and while many people use DEET-based products without incident, others have suffered side-effects ranging from rashes and hives to uncontrollable twitching and muscle spasms to death. Children seem especially susceptible to DEET problems. DEET is also suspected of being responsible, in part, for Gulf War Syndrome.

ABC's Prime Time Live program reported on DEET and told the stories of Tim Christiansen, who at 26 years old died after using DEET twice one summer day in 1994; Elijah Harrison, an 8 year old boy who's mother sprayed him with a 25% DEET product once a day for two days - he still suffers from seizures; and on workers in the Everglades National Park who experienced rashes, dizziness and numbness of the lips after using a DEET repellent.
