More information:
The wildlife pencils are made of recycled newspapers tightly rolled around premium 2B graphite for a soft, smooth writing experience. The exterior features vivid and realistic animal prints with a glossy, non-toxic finish for a quality look.
Not only does making pencils from old newspapers help preserve our forests, but the process of rolling newspaper around graphite instead of encasing it in wood means that the graphite is far better protected. In comparison, merely dropping a wood pencil on the floor can result in the graphite splintering and cracking. This is why O'Bon confidently states that their pencils often last 2-3 times longer than conventional wood pencils.
The O'Bon factory is low on the energy consumption scale of producing pencils. Unlike wood pencils, there are no trees to chop, no wood slates to grind and no hexagonal shape to cut by grinding wood.
