Newspaper Pencils - smencils scented colour
These are the world's only gourmet coloured pencils made from recycled newspaper. This reusable pencil case contains 10 pencils in tubes, each with a different scent and colour: watermelon, rootbeer, orange, peppermint, cinnamon, fruit punch, grape, pineapple, cherry and bubble gum. Sheets of newspaper are wound tightly around the #2 graphite writing cores. They are then hardened, allowing them to be sharpened like normal pencils. The pencils are soaked in gourmet liquid scents. Each smencil is placed in its own freshness tube, to preserve the scent and protect the pencil.

An average sized cedar tree will make about 172,000 pencils. However 172,000 pencils can also be made from 430 re-cycled newspapers.
Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times saves about 75,000 trees. The average tree can filter about 60 pounds of air pollution per year. If everyone in the USA recycled just 10% of their newspapers, about 25 million trees would be saved per year.
