The journey to healthy, nourished nails is a beneficial one, but it does take time. If you have dry, parched nails, your first couple coats of polish may chip or streak. But don’t be discouraged, it’s just part of the process. For the perfect finish, please take the following steps:
- Remove any existing nail polish and buff nails.
- If you have dry, parched nails, you may experience chipping or streaking of your polish. To hydrate, simply apply a drop of jojoba oil to nail bed and buff. Buffing drives the natural oils into the nail so Scotch Naturals WaterColors can adhere better.
- Wash hands with soap and water to rinse remover residue and buffing dust.
- Dry hands and nails thoroughly.
- Apply 1-2 coats of polish. Allow time in between coats to avoid streaking No base or top coat needed.
Please remember this is a water-based nail product. It’s best to wait three minutes between applying coats and we encourage painting tips and toes before bed, allowing polish to dry and cure overnight. Continued use of Scotch Naturals WaterColors in conjunction with the specially formulated natural remover will improve the health of the nail and promote long lasting polish adhesion.
Tips for polish removal:
It's easier to remove the polish after a warm bath, as both the polish and nail bed are softened a bit. Soak nails with remover for a few minutes before rubbing off with a cotton pad. For best results, use Scotch Naturals Spray Soy Polish Remover or Scotch Naturals Plant-Based Polish Remover.
